25th in the world!

Pacific Edge Chorus competed in Louisville Kentucky October 2023, in the 75th Annual Sweet Adeline’s competition - one of the many things we do, as well as spreading, and making available our 4-part harmony fun art throughout the community.

In a Sweet Adeline world of 500 choruses who, 1st may compete regionally, then send their winning choruses to compete internationally - we landed 25th in the Sweet Adeline’s International world of choruses - WHOOO HOOO!

Then, just when we thought it couldn’t get better, our sister chorus, across the water from us in Vancouver, BC, Canada, took ‘1st place’ in the world!!!

We are so proud of ‘Lions Gate Chorus’ ❤️ and kudos to all the choruses and quartets that competed this year and made our personal world and insight a whole lot richer.

The camaraderie in the spirit of music with a titch of competition thrown in for fun just seems to add a bit of zest and energy to our lives and musical soul.

Come visit us at our rehearsal hall on Tuesday nights at Gordon United church hall, Goldstream Rd, Langford, to have a listen, and you may be on the risers singing with us that night😃.

COACHING WITH "QUEEN" SANDY!

What an incredible weekend for Pacific Edge Chorus! 🎶 We had the privilege of working with the amazing Sandy Marron, Master 700 Level Director and international champion—talk about vocal royalty! 👑

From improving our vocal posture to singing with precision and unity, we’re fine-tuning our sound and loving every minute of it! 🎤

We learned that opening your mouth wider doesn’t make you louder—it just changes your instrument (and who needs a megaphone when you’ve got harmony?). And don’t forget about keeping our tongues in check for that perfect sound! 😜

We also did a huge deep dive into our contest music and made some major changes (it's fine, we're all fine! 😅) which we think will be a huge hit!
Lastly, a big thanks to all our members for their flexibility and energy this weekend - and hugs to those that were unable to make it: you were there in spirit! We can’t wait to show off what we’ve been working on—stay tuned for more exciting updates!

VISION PLANNING WITH LISA gREENOUGH

September 6/7, 2024, Pacific Edge Chorus had an incredible coaching session with the talented Lisa Greenough (Master Director of Gateway Chorus, Region 26 Education Coordinator, and Sweet Adelines Visual Communications Judge), where we explored our chorus’s strengths, identified areas for growth, and created tangible goals to move forward together.

Through her guidance, we established our core values of Joy, Harmony, and Commitment, leaving us inspired and united with a renewed sense of purpose.

Thank you, Lisa, for an unforgettable experience!
